Interview Checklist
This list is to help you prepare ahead of your next interview.
What do I know about the company - values, clients, recent news stories, key people?
Who will be interviewing me, have I looked at their profile and connected on LinkedIn? Are there any key points worth mentioning, this could be recent posts, events, promotions etc?
Do I know where and when the interview is, and how to get there?
Are there any adjustments I need for the interview, and have I asked for these?
Is there anything I need to ask the hiring manager to ensure I'm prepared?
What are the key attributes, skills, behaviours that the job description is asking for?
What examples do I have to demonstrate my experience in these areas?
Have I prepared 3 - 5 STAR examples based on these attribute or competencies?
How will I introduce myself in a way which is relevant to this role?
What are my key strengths, skills and development areas?
What questions could I ask for during the interview?
On the day
Do you have everything you need to take to the interview?
Eat, hydrate and take a moment to breathe before the interview
Arrive 10 - 15 minutes early (or log on early)
The interview starts the moment you arrive at the building, remember to smile, be polite and build rapport
Listen carefully, take a pause before answering and ask them to clarify or repeat any questions you're not sure of.
Ask questions, have these written in a notebook if you need to.
End with enthusiasm and thank them for their time.
